This year’s event was held on 12th July 2007 in Battersea Park, London.

My Event

2007 had been a disappointing year for me so far. After being accepted for a place in the London Marathon, I had to postpone my place over to next year due to the fact that I had picked up a knee injury in the Hastings Half Marathon. I had tried something new by trying to begin a spell of long distance running and my body was obviously not enjoying the demands!

However, the 3.5 mile (5.6 km) route of this event came around after I had time to recover from this injury. It was my third time competing in this challenge, once again through Fidelity Investments.

The route around Battersea Park was one that I had grown to know now. This helped me control my pace in the race and I finished another warm evenings work with a similar time that I had achieved before.

This was to be my only event in 2007, but I had my place in the London Marathon carried over to next year so there was plenty of training to be done all over again!

Next event... Hastings Half Marathon 2008!
